Mike Murphy

Mike Murphy is one of the Republican Party’s most successful political media consultants. Murphy has been called a “media master” by Fortune magazine, the GOP’s “hottest media consultant” by Newsweek, and the leader of a “new breed” of campaign consultants by Congressional Quarterly. Mike is a partner in the Revolution Agency, a strategic communications firm in Washington DC. Murphy also serves as a pundit and political analyst, writing the widely read “Murphy’s Law” column for TIME magazine and frequently appearing on the Meet the Press Roundtable. Murphy is also a popular and entertaining public speaker who often appears in front of professional groups, trade associations and corporate boards to give his insightful and quite humorous analysis of the amazing spectacle of American Politics. In his political career, Murphy handled media and strategy for more than 26 successful Gubernatorial and Senatorial campaigns for clients including Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, John Engler, Terry Brandstad, Christie Whitman, Tommy Thompson, Lamar Alexander, Slade Gorton, Spence Abraham, Paul Coverdell, Dirk Kempthorne and Jeff Sessions. Murphy was senior strategist for John McCain’s historic Presidential race in 2000 and has advised political leaders in many foreign countries. Murphy has a vibrant corporate practice advising Fortune 500 companies, trade associations and interest groups. Since 2003, Murphy has also worked as a writer and producer in the entertainment industry. Murphy was born in Detroit, Michigan and attended Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Government. He has served as an IOP Fellow at Harvard’s JFK School and often lectures at Harvard’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs.
